We are the FIRST unit in Milton Keynes to offer the new WID-easy test. This is a simple vaginal swab that is done in clinic for women aged over 45, and is specifically designed for women who are concerned about having endometrial cancer. A negative test = 97% accuracy for NO Cancer being present (better than a scan)
Every year 275,000 women will experience abnormal bleeding from their uterus. Around 95,000 women will have a thickened endometrium seen on a scan (≥ 4mm) but <10,000 will have Endometrial Cancer.
This will save thousands of unnecessary, painful hysteroscopies being required.
